JAMES F. MORAN, FOUNDER

James Moran received both his Bachelor's (1992) and Master's degrees (1996) from Bob Jones University.   He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at five years of age.  His father, Rev. John Moran, Sr., a BJU Alumnus, led him to Christ.  He was ordained into the ministry in 1999 by Dr. Bob Besancon, Ph.D. (former BJU professor for over 15 years and a pastor for over 30 years in the North Charleston, SC area).

EXPERIENCE

Rev. Moran has worked as a national radio anchor, an assistant sound engineer, twice as a minister of music, a radio station manager, and a special speaker for scores of churches and programs.  As a CCM singer with numerous songs under copyright which he now refuses to sell, he traveled through 21 states providing special music for churches back in 1987-1989, but the Lord brought him out of that type of music into the orderly, historical style of music that Christians have sung for almost two millennia and that the Jewish people sang in the Temple.  Rev. Moran has served twice as an associate pastor for Bible-believing churches.  Due to his allegiance to Jesus Christ, Rev. Moran has turned down opportunities in the talent business and the entertainment industry including invitations from two NYC agencies and also an opportunity to serve as a judge for a local chapter of the popular TV program "Star Search".  Because of his background, Rev. Moran has a great burden for teaching God's people regarding music and the entertainment industry.   In fact, Rev. Moran has studied the spiritual nature of music since January of 1993 with great fervor.  Rev. James Moran has traveled as a singer and evangelist in fundamental churches presenting sermons on music and prophecy.  He has seen the Lord use his music seminars to touch lives and edify members in the body of Christ.  His seminars on CCM music give answers to both pastors and church members in a way that is powerful, yet simple.  Having been a CCM musician himself who looked skeptically upon the messages of those who advocated traditional church music, Rev. Moran understands the perspective with which many people view his seminars and seeks to answer the questions for which he often failed to find answers as a youth.   By sharing answers to the arguments that he once used himself, Rev. Moran has been able to effectively help others in this vital area. He recently moved to Taylors, SC and founded Pure Creations, an arts and auxiliary educational program for homeschoolers throughout Greenville County.

ORIGIN OF PROGRAM

James Moran began these auxiliary classes for homeschoolers in Charleston, SC after encouragement from a parent who felt that a homeschool choir was needed in their area.  Mr. Moran began the program with a choir and the basic arts program which serves as the core of the program today.  With only limited time to lend to a choral program, Mr. Moran no longer offered the choir, but he continued the other basic arts classes.  From this start, the arts program continued in Charleston, SC, and today is located in the Greenville, SC area.
